Harmony

It has been over three years since our teacher, mentor and friend Ten Ching Hou transitioned unexpectedly. He left us with the task and inspiration to continue practice and teach authentic Tai Chi and Qi Gong. He transmitted to us his beautiful form – Old Yang Style Long Form. This form is rather rare and in many ways looks different than other Yang styles. However it is the principals of Tai Chi and in particular Yang style Tai Chi that are the essence of our studies – Harmony, Yin and Yang, Chi Cultivation, Centeredness, Alignment, Balance, Breath and the Postures. Stillness and movement, soft overcomes the hard, having a positive outlook on life and embodying the human aspects of generosity and kindness.

We keep returning to Ten Ching Hou’s inspiring Moto “Tai Chi Does a Life Good”  in our practice and in daily life.

Our classes in Santa Monica, Culver City and Westwood are expanding. New students are joining and beginning to feel the positive effects TaiChi and Qigong practice have on their well being.

Our New Blog!

blogTpicI’m very excited to share our new website with you and the world. It has been long time in the making. Finally through the wonderful help of Shaleah it is now realized.

It has been a year and a half since the conception of Be Like Water Tai Chi.  In addition to a core of dedicated students and steady class schedule; we now have a more robust online presence with social media and an upgraded site. This is a place to promote our school, welcome new students, communicate about martial art, history, and share the numerous health benefits, wellness and mindfulness aspects of Tai Chi.  The site will also serve as a place for the school community to connect, keep in touch with each other and the teachers, study and follow their own progress.

Tai Chi brought Harmony to my life. I was able to build mind and body awareness that kept me away from chronic and debilitating pain caused by Sciatic pinched nerve, and brought happiness and joy by making better choices in my life.  The Tai Chi practice shows me how to let go of tension, how to open my mind and allow natural energy flow through my body. Tai Chi restores order, which in turn brings healing energy and positive outlook on life, restful and energetic existence. Daily practice boosts my immune system making me more resistant to disease. Having the physical, mental and spiritual tools has opened a door for profound self-improvement.  I am looking forward for new places to be revealed.
